Know how border-image & border-radius don't play nice together?

(interactive codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/jxZ)

#tinyCSStip there's a workaround IF corner radius ≤ border-width: use inset() clip-path + a round value!

clip-path: inset(0 round $r)

@codepen demo: codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/qBE

(and yes, this is a tip I first shared on twitter over half a decade ago x.com/anatudor/status/12199161 )

I honestly *can* see that AI could be helpful with really simple / monotonous tasks, like creating unit tests to help you describe what code you're going to write.

But would I let it write this code? Just no. This is terrible.

Oh wow:

```
If you're still seeing issues, we might need to try a different approach. Let's try creating a fresh SvelteKit project with Tailwind CSS using the official SvelteKit create command with the Tailwind
```
Wow, thanks #cursor. The last 10 minutes (and god knows how much compute power) was wasted on that slop.

I coded out a Poetry Sound Visualizer that takes the text of a poem, and creates three different visualizations based on letter and syllable:

Phonetic Rhythm
Waveform
Frequency Spectrum

Give it a whirl, if you are interested (caveat being that this is a Claude AI project to consider where your words will go upon submission)

GitLab CFO, Brian Robins, says they are “aligned with the goals of DOGE, because the company’s software tools aim to help people do more with less. What the Department of Government Efficiency is trying to do is what GitLab does.”

You either support fascism or you don’t. It’s binary. There’s no gray area or “aligning.”

Considering GitLab? Don’t. Use @Codeberg.

Libre Indie Archive Update

An archival system for indie producers.

I now have all the functionality in place including File Integrity checks, email notification, and shell availability on the remote systems.

I am updating documentation and editing the scripts regularizing them and fixing comments. I am writing install checklists for each system, primary, secondary, and remote.

My son is going to help me do a security audit.

I am planning on posting to Codeberg this month.

My latest blog post: Simplify VCD

Simplify VCD is a tool designed to make working with Value Change Dump (VCD) files more efficient and faster. This tool enables users to clip sections of VCD files, trim irrelevant data, and reduce the resolution to a more manageable timescale, significantly improving processing speed and usability.

While #DOGE could use #AutoRIF as the #DOD built it, multiple #OPM sources speculated that the #Musk-affiliated engineers could be building their own software on top of, or using #code from, AutoRIF. In screenshots viewed by WIRED, Riccardo Biasini, a fmr engineer at #Tesla & a dir at #TBC, has seemingly been tasked w/pruning AutoRIF on GitHub, w/his name attached to the repository. “Remove obsolete versions of autorif,” one file description authored by a user w/Biasini’s GitHub username says.

The software, called #AutoRIF, which stands for Automated Reduction in Force, was first developed by the Dept of #Defense more than 2 decades ago. Since then, it’s been updated several times & used by a variety of agencies to expedite reductions in workforce. Screenshots of internal databases reviewed by WIRED show that #DOGE operatives have accessed AutoRIF & appear to be editing its #code.
