#vscode now seems to open an SVG in "render the SVG" mode, rather than “show me the SVG's code" mode. I can't find an entry to undo this in settings … it’s gotta be in there somewhere, right?

Have any of you found the proper way to stop this travesty?

Guile and RDE Intenships.

RDE applied for GSoC 2025 as a mentoring organization. The results will be on February 27.

I put the list of the project ideas here:

However, GSoC is not the only way to do the internship. We have some funding contributed by our community members opencollective.com/rde and can arrange an internship regardless. Just contact me or drop a message on rde-discuss for details.

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a worse computing experience than with #VSCode and #Platformio.

I’m used to working with art software. The UX is TIGHT on that shit. Wasted clicks, redundant actions, unnecessary options, and reinstallations get users to jump to something that they can use to hit their deadline.

Frequently, when something is wrong (e.g. “Arduino.h not found”) there is no known solution, though the Internet is full of people asking about it.

@EngineerDaryl That's the worst part! Once you get going, #typescript is actually great! I hate writing javascript without it. Like the actual "IDE" experience of #VsCode and typescript and actually knowing what all of my objects are, is great.

It just feels like every time I want to start a project in it, I have to waste a week just getting set up with FooBazler v0.9.0 which you need because gronkJS is no longer maintained so you actually need to transpontificate from TS to epmjs using Pigeon
