This is my #linocut of New Brunswick, a province I have visited many times. Its provincial bird, the black-capped chickadee and its tree, the balsam fir cover the hand-carved map of New Brunswick. The block was inked ‘à la poupée’ (with different colours, black, gold and green, in different areas) and printed by hand on lovely Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper.

Kasa - that's our daughter - has been here for the afternoon.
She brought this lino cut she did at a tutorial session yesterday evening - I've been inspired to have a go myself!

She also cooked a really good meal for us all - pasta with chicken & ham in a cheese sauce.
She's back down the M1 now on the way back to the hospital.

Here's hoping for good news this week because the ward is starting to affect her mood.

Ça m’a pris un petit paquet d’heures pour graver cette plaque au format A3. L’encre n’accroche pas super bien la plaque mais je vais tenter de la dégraisser lors de mes prochains tirages. Je vis aussi essayer de rajouter une couche colorée pour les pivoines et les feuilles, j’espère que ça sera cool quand ça sera terminé!

Lino printing plate vs. proof on scrap paper.
It should get blacker during the next passes. But for now I will stop here since I need to do my chores too.
I could do the cutting all day long, it's so fun and relaxing. I'm happy with the result.
I wonder if I should keep the plate as it is or clean it though. I think I will print tomorrow.
Still wondering how many prints I should make.
