FYI, my iPhone just updated itself to whatever the newist iOS version is. Afterward, as I suspected, it had enabled Apple Intelligence, though before the update it was unchecked. Sneaky fuckers thought I wouldn't notice.

The apps setting for Apple Intelligence & Siri->Learn from this App remained unchecked, but I had to confirm that because you know on the next update they're flip that bit.

Welp, #appleintelligence in the new #iPhone #iOS update has completely bollixed the dictation and #Siri on the phone. The #AI is completely mistaking commands for queries, even offering #ChatGPT to figure out what I am saying. #Apple needs to realize that if non-technical people get a bad impression of their system, they will turn it off and never turned it on again. Why I keep on turning it on, I don't know. In any case, I am turning it off, again.

I’m very wary of becoming too enamored with technology, but occasionally, things works just like you hope and dream they will, and then it’s pretty special.

I’ve been really pushing the limits of iPhone filmmaking and I keep learning new things. For instance, you can shoot in Cinema mode, transfer packaged files via AirDrop to your laptop, and maintain full control over focus depth tracking. Combine with Hollyland’s Lark M2S microphones, and it’s nothing less than magical.

All these rumours swirling about a “foldable” iPhone releasing next year. Ya know why I for one won’t be interested? I guarantee this right now, they’ll be charging something in the region of £2,999 for the base model or something.

And it’ll be introduced as “Magic Close” or something.

I was reading this post by @requiem about moving photos from an iPhone to a Linux PC and figured I should mention my (new) solution.

I first tried to use the iOS "Files" application which does allow you to connect to a computer but guess what? It's fucking broken! I found out by reading many forum posts.

What I ended up doing was installing "ES File Explorer" which I remember from my Android tablet days.

And guess what? It works.

Every single review of the #iPhone 16e calls out its lack of #MagSafe. I get it — an iPhone without MagSafe in 2025 would be functionally broken to me — but this phone is not for me, or professional reviewers. Apple said the e might stand for "everyone", but I think it's actually "everyone else": people who plug their phones in, who have no idea of the number of hertz their screen refreshes at, but want a nice phone that will last for a few years.
