SHADOW OF A GERM 🕺
I've only just made it to the apartments, but so far my biggest impression is this is a million times scarier than the original omg 😭😭😭 Every encounter I'm fighting for my life I stg. I am leaping at every sound and there are A LOT OF SOUNDS.

Despite the combat upgrades, there's still that "I'm just a smoll guy idk what I'm doing" jank. The enemies are unpredictable, and the combo of the sound design and haptics just make it really impactful and intense. James SOUNDS like I FEEL playing it haha. I love his shaky little gasps when he's scared. 🥺

They're doing some crazy shit with the weather too—Masahiro Ito was apparently very specific about the fog and the weather during development and it shows, they're clearly doing some things Team Silent always wanted to do but didn't have the tech for.

My biggest complaint about the original was that it was the least scary of all the Silent Hill games, so this is welcome, despite my heart threatening cardiac arrest at all times. Jesus I haven't even seen the Otherworld yet, idk what I'm gonna do

Really no complaints so far. I just replayed the original last month, and I'm impressed at how accurate they're replicating everything while still managing to surprise me despite having played this like 50 times. I hear PC performance is not good, RIP. I'm playing on PS5 and it's fine. Cutscenes are capped at 30fps so I'm just playing in quality mode, I figure the framerate change won't bug me if I'm already used to it. I think the movie feel is suited for Silent Hill anyway.

#SilentHill #Gaming
