"This is SILLy" teableau for 03/15/25
I eschewed the Ides of March and went with Purple Shamrock on Windowsill, instead.
Speaking of tea, this has been my favorite tea all year.
“Most of the people who drink sweet potato flavor in Chaozhou are around 65 years old or even older , the taste of sweet potato flavor is their memory.”
I’m a person from Chaozhou but I’m below 65, maybe it’s the flavor my great-grandparents enjoyed. In any case I’m really enjoying it (and this is my favorite tea vendor)

"Blood Moon Eclipse" teableau for 03/14/25
It was too cloudy for me to see the eclipse, so I made my own.
@Edmonds_Scanner
Nah, more like puerh. Still dark and bitter, but desired by a select few, many of which leave me to sit alone in a dark cupboard for years at a time instead of letting me out to socialize and breathe.

"Sound" teableau for 13Mar25
A nod to some of the things on or in Puget Sound: Lighthouses. Giant Pacific Octopus. Sailboat. People who paint Giant Pacific Octopuses on spoons.
Happy Thursday! I hope you know where your towel is!
Today’s reminder is to use the good stuff! I feel like there’s this pressure to save nice things for Special Occasions, but that can be every day! (And also a lot of nicer foods have shorter shelf lives than you’d think?) Have some nice tea, wear your fancy hat, have a lovely time! Yeah!
Today’s tea is chai, we’ve got fresh ginger and we’re thrilled to use it! What are you brewing up?
An evening spent with a friend and her cat.
A morning Yunnan brew to start the day right.
Later, we're going out for brunch and then it'll be time for more travel. This time, in a coach.
"Greenery" teableau for 03/12/25
The cup & saucer at center are very old, given to my octogenarian friend in her childhood by a WWI English vet disabled from being gassed in the trenches. My friend, raised in NZ, gave it to me in WA State. It's seen some things.
The Official Best Decaf Tea Awards (Non-flavoured)
- UK Division -
Thanks to everyone who entered, by which I mean the 5 different boxes of tea I bought this week at great expense. I only really wanted 2 teabags of each brand and now have just under 400 unused decaf teabags. So thanks for that. The results are as follows.
5th place:
-- Dorset decaf, Twinings decaf --
Both just as fishy as every other well-known brand like PG Tips and Tetley but just about bearable.
3rd place:
-- Waitrose own-brand decaf tea, Yorkshire decaf --
Waitrose was the cheapest and also surprisingly mediocre in a good way. Yorkshire decaf has been in my cupboard for years so this is the average standard against which all teas have since been compared. As a Yorkshire lass, Yorkshire tea is part of my religion.
1st place:
-- Clipper Decaf --
Almost like normal tea! That's why it won! But also, it's a B-corp company (which these days is somewhat meaningless. Nestlé is B-corp? Well, okay then...) with environmentally friendly values in all the ways. No fishy tea here, my friend!
Thank you for all the sciencing!
(...Does anyone want a shit ton of decaf teabags that taste a bit like fish?)

"Still Winter" teableau for 03/11/25
Tiny tendrils of spring notwithstanding, winter lingers (and I'm okay with that).
