This is it! Hurrah!! Today is the big day!!!

If you're a United Statesian like me, today is the day — March 13, 2025 — when we have reached our country's maximum annual allotment of ecological consumption. If everyone on Earth lived like we do in the USA, there would now be nothing left to consume for the rest of the year. It would be all used up.

So, as of tomorrow, everyone here will stop driving, stop flying, stop shopping online, and...

Wait, what? That's not how it works? We're not going to stop??

Oh shit.

I'm fasting for some edicalmay rocedurepay so "low energy hangout" please.
I will throw you some primary journalism on the US/NZ/UK #ai #toTheHilt policy as it is existing now in practice.

Then I want to talk about programming that matters and why running the same llm again (faster) doesn't matter.

What do we need?
WE NEED MORE COAL, OIL, AND GAS‼️

When do we need it?
WE NEED IT NOW‼️

🙁 At least, that's what they're telling us...

The world needs more planet-heating fossil fuel, not less, Donald Trump’s newly appointed energy secretary, Chris Wright, told oil and gas bigwigs on Monday.

“We are unabashedly pursuing a policy of more American energy production and infrastructure, not less,” he said in the opening plenary talk of a swanky annual conference in Houston, Texas.

Wright has been called a climate skeptic, for instance for repeatedly denying that global heating is a crisis. “This is simply wrong: I am a climate realist,” he said.

“The Trump administration will treat climate change for what it is, a global physical phenomenon that is a side-effect of building the modern world,” he added. “Everything in life involves trade-off.”
