Last Boost: A creative writing short prose I wrote a few years back about discovering your own worth. <3

(Here: )

Another oldie, an illustration from 2018. Figured it was thematic. ;)

Painted in . You can see the timelapse of it here: I spent a lot of time trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to do and how to go about it. X)

Your worth ≠ your productivity.

Be kind to yourself. You are worthy of love, attention, and respect just because you exist and you're you.

You don't have to prove yourself to anyone. :blobhug2:

I just want to quickly apologise for all the boosting I've been doing lately, especially of @Curator! I've just been so excited about the new influx or artists and other creatives on Mastodon, and Del is absolutely KILLING IT with her amazing Curator posts, and I just want to share the energy and good vibes with everyone. :blobhug2:

Seriously, I don't play cards. I grew up thinking card games were Super Boring because it was all my parents would do with their friends every weekend. But I do play a bit of whist with some friends, and I ended up buying the unicorn cards for myself on a whim, and LOVED playing with them.

The top three arrived today, and my fave is by far the Aviary cards. GORGEOUS art, each card is different from the usual. So lovely! 😍

Things I never thought I'd ever be interested in but have suddenly developed a desire to collect: Decks of limited edition/gorgeous looking playing cards

Okay, I need to step away from the internet for a little bit… XD

Exciting day, y'all! Glad to see some new faces and familiar ones popping up. Feel free to send me a follow request if you like! I can't guarantee I'll accept them, but I'm happy to receive them. Hopefully I'll get around to approving them in the next few days.

Lots of love to you all! Be good to each other, and kind to yourself. :blobhug2: :chickadee:

If you use the advanced web interface you can pin a feed that shows you posts from any hashtags you tell it to show. Excellent if you want a feed of artists; just pin the art hashtags and you have a wonderful feed to scroll through!

Also, check out the folks people boost. Check out their follow lists to see who they follow. Keep an eye open and follow anyone who seems interesting.

I'll add more toots to this thread when I think of more good folks to follow! 👍

Regularly check out hashtags and use them in your toots. Seriously. They're not just set dressing here, they're how we find like-minded folks here!

Some good ones to find new artsy people/new people in general:

@selfcare_cj1 — A lovely bot that reminds you to take things slow and be good to yourself. <3

@PleaseCaption — A bot that will send you a DM if you post an image without a caption. Helpful if you want to get better at describing your images!

Some more general tips below for filling up your timeline…

For folks who are new to Mastodon and are intimidated by the timeline, here's my suggestions for awesome accounts to follow:

@Curator — The admin of .ART, often boosts really lovely art, as well as creative/artistic exercises and reference images and resources.

@APoD — A bot that shows you awesome astronomy photos every day.

@todayilearned — Another bot filled with interesting tidbits/trivia (quality varies, though!)

Also, my laptop sucks. :( It's a gaming laptop and has more than enough specs to run Planet Zoo easily at high graphics, but the cooling on it is CRAP. Even scrolling the web sometimes makes my CPU temp jump to 100 degrees C. (It may be more; my monitoring program only reads up to 100C.)

I have a laptop cooling mat with fans, but last night I was still playing PZ with ice packs under my computer to try and limit the lag/stuttering. x___x

I wish Planet Zoo had an easy camera mode like the Sims 4 does. It's so easy to just press "tab" and have all the UI go away and then be able to position the camera exactly how you like.

(Maybe there is a way to do that in Planet Zoo and I just haven't figured it out yet… :da_sweat: )
