Just rewatched Laputa / Castle In The Sky, which has been my favourite film for as long as I can remember.

It's SO beautiful, and I appreciate the 'miners, farmers, robots, trees, and pirates VS the government, the military, and the monarchy' message.

Plus there's a steam train chase, magic rocks, and a lot of explosions 😍

Just please please avoid the Disney English dub, it's appalling.

I really wish more artists as astronomically popular as Miyazaki infused their work with politics in the way Miyazaki does.

I guess that is weird to say, but the lessons in his movies seem to be so much more challenging of the status quo than do most other popular storytellers.
